Beautiful postcard portrait of Shemm boldly signed in ink.

Hans Schemm was the Gauleiter of Bayerische Ostmark but was best known for his eduational pursuits as he National Socialist Teachers League in 1927. He also ran several different newspapers and magazines, some education-related, others Party-related, and also opened the Bayrueth NS-Cultural Publishing House. He was also a member of the Reichstag and the Cultural and Educational Minister of Bavaria.

As Gauleiter of the Bayrueth area and Minister of Culture in the same locality, he was also heavily involved with all of the Wagner Festivals and was awarded Bayrueth's Honorary Citizen. He would often accompany the F├╝hrer to the Wagner Festivals up until his untimely death in an air crash in March of 1935.

Upon learning of the air crash, Hitler flew his own best surgeon, Dr. Prof Ferdinan Saurbruch to the scemne, but it was already too late.

Schemm was immensely popular with the German people, who saw the night-day turn-around and progress in the schools in German and the educations that were offered every German child. Throughout Germany, buildings and streets and events, etc, were named in his honor.
